 Quality Your Dog Deserves

The Quality Your Dog Deserves

As we know all too well, some pet food companies are well known for using less-than-desirable ingredients to try and improve the appearance of foods and to meet the requirements for appropriate protein levels.  As a leader in the premium pet health food industry, HealthyPetNet has never, and will never use any of these unsavory ingredients in our foods.  That’s why Life’s Abundance Premium Canned Health Foods for Puppies & Adult Dogs contains absolutely no artificial colors or flavors, corn, wheat or any glutens.  We’re sure that you’ll agree, the nutritional value of these superior canned foods meets or exceeds the standards you already expect from a product carrying the Life’s Abundance name.

FUR-BALLS

Sleeping cat

For cats shedding is natural occurrence and happens year round but is usually more frequent during the spring and summer months. It's natural for a certain amount of fur to be swallowed but sometimes it builds up in the intestines and causes a blockage which is called a 'fur ball.' This may cause coughing, discomfort and constipation. It is easily remedied at home, but in extreme cases veterinary treatment may be needed.

Flint River Ranch has a special formula created for our feline friends that helps to aid in the breakdown and digestion of hairballs.

Pet Arthritis

dog in bedCold, damp weather aggravates arthritis. Although arthritis can appear in young pets and some breeds are more susceptible then others, it is more common in middle aged, older and overweight dogs and cats. An injury or fracture can also make bones more susceptible to arthritic pain after the injury has healed. Many veterinarians and pet owners are combining holistic therapies along with general veterinarian practices to reduce arthritis symptoms. Acupuncture is becoming increasingly popular as a treatment for chronic pain, along with the support of herbal supplements and antioxidant vitamins.

Spotlight on People - Calcium and bone health

10-07-people.gif

Every day, your body removes and replaces small amounts of calcium from your bones.  This process is called remodeling.  In fact, most of an adult skeleton is replaced about every 10 years.  However, if your body removes more calcium than it replaces, then your bones will become weaker and have a greater chance of breaking.  Your skeleton is a mineral storehouse for calcium and phosphorus.  If these nutrients are in short supply, the regulating hormones take them out of the bone and send them to other systems of the body, weakening the bone. Learn more

Helpful Tips - The Optimal Feline Diet

08-07tip.gif

Although there is no true formula for feline water intake, we do know that cats generally will not consume enough water on their own to sustain organ functioning for a long and healthy life. This is because cats evolved as desert animals, so their sense of thirst is not nearly as acute as that of other mammals. In fact, many cats will only drink an average of two milliliters of water for every gram of dry food eaten.

Food is the foundation for health

We love our companion animals. For many of us, they are our family, and we cannot imagine life without them. We expend a lot of energy and effort to ensure their happiness and wellbeing. And when we’re confronted with signs of ill-health, it’s upsetting and confusing, especially when we can’t locate an appropriate solution. Even if you’ve not yet dealt with similar situations, chances are that you know someone who has.

Unfortunately, it’s often difficult to pinpoint the stressors on the body that can prevent your dog or cat from enjoying optimal health. And unless you have visited a veterinarian concerned about nutrition, you may not have considered the importance of your companion animal’s diet.
